About Matt Seltzer (that’s me!)

A Market Research Consultant Who Partners With Marketing Teams

Hi there, I’m Matt. I’m a market research partner who helps brands, marketing teams, and agencies answer important marketing questions through research and insight. Basically, I conduct really strong surveys and focus groups, and translate the information into clear marketing strategies.

Throughout my career, I’ve worked on both the brand side and the agency side, combining market research with marketing strategy to help organizations make smarter decisions.

Today, I partner with marketing teams and agencies that want access to the same level of research and insight that large enterprises already rely on to guide their marketing decisions.

Who I Work With

Brands

I work directly with brands, businesses and in-house marketing teams to provide research support and strategic insight.

Some engagements involve project-based research studies, while others are longer-term consulting roles, including overflow support, temporary coverage for team members on leave, or managing research initiatives from start to finish.

Agencies

I partner with marketing, branding, advertising, and PR agencies to bring research and insights into their client work.

Some agencies engage me as an independent consultant or contractor, while others choose to white-label my services, allowing me to operate as a seamless member of their team when working with clients.

How I Work With Clients

Every organization works differently, so I structure engagements in a way that integrates smoothly with your team.

Depending on your needs, I can support your organization through:

  • Independent consulting engagements

  • Contract research projects (W2 or 1099)

  • White-labeled research support for agencies

  • Temporary research roles or overflow support (W2 or 1099)

  • End-to-end research initiatives

My goal is to provide the research expertise needed to help your marketing team move forward with clarity and confidence.

Why I Started Consulting

I’ve spent 20 years working at the intersection of market research and marketing strategy, building experience in both quantitative and qualitative research along the way.

I live in Las Vegas, where I began my career working on the iconic “What Happens Here, Stays Here” campaign, helping research and understand the audiences help continue the brand’s success.

Over the years, I’ve worked in both in-house and agency roles, partnering with brands and marketing teams to uncover insights that guide smarter marketing decisions.

Along the way, I noticed something interesting.

Large enterprises and major agencies almost always have access to market research. They have dedicated insights teams, research budgets, and the tools to deeply understand their customers.

But most marketing teams don’t.

Small and mid-sized businesses, growing brands, and even many agencies often have important marketing questions but no research partner to help answer them.

That realization is what led me to start my consulting practice.

Today, I partner with marketing teams and agencies to deliver the same level of research and insight that large organizations rely on to guide their marketing decisions.

I Talk About Market Research a Lot

In addition to consulting, I regularly speak about the importance of market research and insights in modern marketing.

I’ve been a featured speaker at conferences through organizations including the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) and the American Marketing Association (AMA), and I frequently speak on podcasts, webinars, at colleges, and to businesses through workshops and lunch-and-learn style presentations.

I hold an Accreditation in Public Relations (APR) through PRSA, and my research work has received industry recognition and awards from organizations including:

  • Public Relations Society of America

  • American Advertising Federation

  • Las Vegas Innovation Marketing Association

These speaking engagements and recognitions reflect my commitment to advancing the role of research in marketing strategy and decision-making.
